I have recently started receiving spam messages in Windows Live Chat. Thanks to a cluey contact and asking around I discovered the culprit was a so call service run by blockdelete.com which captures your Windows Live Messenger details, which you unwittingly give for the so called service they offer - finding out who has blocked you from their contact lists.
Once they have your details a message is sent to all of your contacts spamming them with a web address which is intended to suck in your contacts to reveal their information too.
If you get a message from a trusted contact which just sends a link and nothing else, question this before you click on it. I unwittingly clicked on a link, thinking it was legitimate and got affected myself.
SOLUTION - CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY AND LET YOUR CONTACTS KNOW TO DO THE SAME. To change your windows live password log in to http://login.live.com/ or go to options within hotmail (top right of your inbox mail window) This password controls all your windows live accounts - chat, mail, spaces etc

Megha Mathur’s last blog post..All I want for Christmas Giveaway!
Look,
This site, blockdelete.com is scam!
I got tricked by it.
I typed my password.
And I found out it when I was signed n it said. “Youv’e signed out of MSM Messenger because you’ve logged on another computer.”
I was dead scared, so i made anotherone, added myself, and I got the same link, so I knew straight away, A hacker got me.
DON’T FALL FOR IT!!!
He Changes his links once a week!
Ashleigh’s last blog post..Warning: blockdelete.com
dont use the block delete takes all yah internet details including if you have wireless finds out all your msn business and wat you have been buying on the internet its a FRAUD
Yeah unfortunately I was a victim of Block Delete scam as well. I had all the warning signs of a scam but I went ahead and did it anyways as it came from someone I knew. That’s how Block Delete works so well.
Also the link that is being sent to people is ww.dont-miss-this.com I left out the other “w” in the address as I dont want that link linking to block Delete. He is using that address that redirects to Block Delete. He will also continue to change the URL that redirects as MSN I beleive is fighting this hacker as we speak. You cannot type in those two URL’s dont-miss-this.com and blockdelete.com
People should strongly think what they do before doing it, I never do had all the warning signs telling me not too but did anyways. People should change their password right away and also log out of MSN Messenger right away as I beleive that shuts down the other MSN on their computer as well and then re-log back in.
People should also try and send a personal email from another account warning people not to do this, and explain why. We need to stop this guy from doing this to people. Just make sure you don’t fall victim of this stuff. I also went did a google search on and typed in “who is” which shows you who registed that web adresss by typing in the domain. It was registered by GoDaddy and is a private registration. He doesn not want to be found.
Always be weary on entering in other log in information on others websites. Do background research and the best thing to do is, “do nothing at all” don’t sign up, enter data, nothing. Close the website and like the saying goes follow your gut if you have any weird feelings concerning a website.
The good thing is that MSN Messenger is helping stop this block delete scam, hacker. I would suggest if you have any personal information on your email account to forward it to another or delete it as this Block Delete hacker could have access to personal information of yours.
Lets work together, share this information with family and friends so that other people don’t fall victims of this Block delete.com or dont-miss-this.com scam.

Thanks for this information Jamie. It is wise to check the authenticity of any link sent to you, even by a trusted friend.
I will follow your suggestion and email a warning to my contacts on MSN.
Your very welcome.
I would like to stop this Block Delete scam from going any further. From your post on this and from others as well we can try and get the word out as much as possible.
Yeah I know I should of checked the link first, but came from a long time friend of mine. Lets just say I had a “Dumb” day, we all have them once in a while
Yeah emailing your contacts will help, help give them a heads up on the latest Block Delete scam going on. Helped save my contacts from getting this.

thank you soo much you’ve saved me from that. i hope it didn’t ruin your pc
why can’t sites like those get shut down
my mate got that and i got the link sent to me should i change my password incase he gets my password and personal info?
You only have a problem if you go to the linked to site and enter your password. Just receiving the link is not a problem.
It is a good idea to warn all your MSN mates about this though. Tell them not to click on any link they receive unless they have checked with the person who sent it that it is a genuine link.
It is always wise to change passwords quite regularly.
thank you for your very quick reply i appriciate the comment, will let all my friends know. happy holidays ^-^
so if I change my passwords after that I logged in on that website my privat information on my inbox isnt possible to use anymore?
I was also sent the link. When I met that guy in school I asked him about that and he said, that if he types in his information, then to every contact the link to blockdelete is sent, but he also told me that he DID get the information who blocked him.
I can’t believe that, but I don’t know why he should lie. Anyway, it’s too risky to me to find out and I’m too lazy to set up an account to find that out.
David, it does give you a list of your contacts who supposedly blocked you, but it’s a fake list, it just randomly chooses some of your contacts.
Hope I helped..
The list of people that blocked or deleted you is very real and not random. How they get it, I have no idea. But it was cool to be able to see who blocked me. I actually got pissed off at a couple of them, those jerks! Lol. But a warning, just be sure as hell you change your password immediately after getting the info. Luckily one of my friends told me to do so right away and saved my ass. Thank god too, cause I’ve had this same account for years and I sure wouldn’t want to lose it just cause I let myself fall prey to some hacker.
hi,
i changed my password but i still cannot log-in to msn live, i also tried; deleting msn and reinstalle it but it still won’t work…how can i fix this ?
thx
hi its me again, i but up a new acount, i tried to log in with msn live and it sti wont work, it pop’s up the trouble shoot thinmajik it goes like this: “We were unable to sign you into Windoes Live Messenger at this time. Please try again later. To let us try and troubleshoot the problem, click the Troubleshoot button. Error code:80048820
Extended error code:80048412
(Troubleshoot) (Close) (Hep)” it does this even with my new account….could he have bugeg my computer ?! if so, then F?@K THAT HACKER…thank you , have a nice day….
Hi Jay,
It should work if you changed your password. Now that error message coming up are you sure your using your new password you made. Sometimes that comes up when wrong password, has for me anyways.
What you could do do make sure Block Delete didn’t add any viruses or things to your computer you should get Malicious Software Removal Tool. You can get that on Microsoft website. Try that and see if it works. I know some people that fell victim to this Block Delete scam have also had received viruses as well. So try this out and see if this works. If you need anything else reply back and give us the feedback.

Hi
Thanks for the information, unfortunately for me i already clicked on that darn link.
It is interesting to see how many people fall for this sort of thing. The important thing to remember is: If a website asks for another site’s username and password it is a scam.
The same goes for email asking for the same.

That really does suck. It annoys me that way people go about their way on the internet trying to scam others out of money, and spamming people with all their crap spammy affiliate links..:(
