Motivation for blogging has been lacking today and I have just realized why. My daughter has been visiting from Perth, along with a Canadian friend of hers who is doing a long world tour. It was the first time I have seen my daughter since she was transferred with her job to WA 3 months ago and her week long visit was wonderful. Now that she has gone back I am feeling flat. I am relieved now I have come to this realization, I have not gone off blogging after all 
I have been catching up on some pingbacks and which has cheered me up no end.

Many moons ago I met quite a few people on ICQ who have become good, albeit distant, friends.
Four of us, me from Aus, and the others from Canada, Sweden and Malaysia met up in England and spent a week or so together a few years ago. Three of us still keep in regular contact. The fourth started a new life with a new man in a new country and has not been heard of since:-) I have become close friends with two other ICQ contacts who I also met up with on my overseas travels.
I met my partner via ICQ too. This was before ICQ degenerated into what it is today though. I do not use it any more.
