Google listened - Blogspot Blogger comment form allows URL link

Welcome to Blogging Sueblimely. To keep up with my posts you can subscribe to my RSS feed and follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!

Hurray - non Blogger users can again provide an auto-linked URL when signing in to comment on blogspot Blogger blogs.

It seems that Google does take account of what we have to say. Very wise considering the downturn in comments on Blogger blogs and the number of people talking of leaving for a different blogging platform.

Here is the announcement at Google’s Blogger Buzz - BlogYou Blog, We Listen

Thanks Colin of Adelaide Green Porridge Cafe for alerting me to this change. At this stage not all Blogger blogs have been changed to this system.

Yes, they seemed to listen to all the protests and no one is happier than me :-D It was quite time consuming to leave comments and frankly, I did skip it some days….

I hope your having a xmas holiday filled with joy and laughter :-)

So it has. I will have to check to see if CommentLuv gets stuck with other blogs too. There is no reason why it should be picking on you.

I will look to see if there is an update too. Thanks for letting me know.

I hope your Christmas time is wonderful too.

Now if only they’d listen to all the complaints about the “mornings only” bug!

Well, this is good news. I think they realized the potential loss: a massive migration to wordpress.com

Just to make things really clear: Google never does something out of pure “kindness and consideration” - the idea of “respect” is a foreign concept for the Giant!

Hi Sue!!! For me, the subscribe to comments addition to blogspot is nice. It can be tough to remember checking back on every reply.

I hope 2008 is great for you!!!!

Yes it is a good new feature. I tend to have trouble keeping up with emails if I use subscribe features though. I use CoComment to help me keep track. I email subscribe to the CoComment feed so I get the same information in just one email.
It is good to see you here Bobby.

Does it really matter? I mean, all those links are no-followed, so you’re not getting any seo benefits…

This is good news for blogger.com users since I personally stopped commenting on their blogs because of the rigorous process. I even wrote a blog post on it some months back but it seems some people still insist on logging in to comment. This is soooo old hat when you have capabilites that allow you to moderate comments.
