Be The Blog Award

Ev Nucci of My life is murphy’s law in a desire to recognize her blogging friends for Thanksgiving has kindly given out some awards. What a a lovely idea.

Blog Award

“This badge is for bloggers who make their blog their own, stay with it, interact with their readers, and have fun.”

I am on the way to making this blog my own again, I do doggedly stick with it* and have fun. I try my best to interact with my readers as that is the main reason I do have fun blogging. Thank you Ev, awards like this mean a lot to me.

* It seems I also dream about blogging although I am not aware of it. I have a nasty cold right now complete with fever. It seems that the worst of it occurred last night. I was singing, laughing and talking out loud. One of the main subjects was blogging. At one point I apparently said I must get up to write a post. Unfortunately, whatever inspiration was motivating me to do this has disappeared into the vast land of forgotten dreams. Maybe I should record tonights nocturnal wanderings. I may come up with a really good idea for a post :-)

Nominate a Blog Star

Shai Coggins is planning on creating a Bloggers’ Walk of Fame, where “bloggers of every shape, size, and style can be acknowledged, by way of what they contribute to the world at large”. She is asking us to nominate bloggers who are warm, caring, supportive and authentic – those who make a difference to their readership, however small it may be. You can read more about it in her post Are You a Blog Star?

Shai has an impressive background, being one of the “co-owners and Vice President (Community) of a global new media network, b5media.com. She’s also a writer, artist, published author …,”

Good onya for thinking of this Shai. For the majority of bloggers blogging is not about how well they do in search engines but being part of a supportive community of people that share their interests. There are many quality blogs that do not get recognition.

Best Blogging Buddies

I have received my very first award on this blog. Thank you for thinking of me Colin – of the very highly regarded and awarded blog Life. (Colin has just received a WordPress.com Weblog Award)

Blog award best buddies

It certainly is great to have blogging buddies. These are the people that return regularly and leave the most comments – my little community in the Global Community. If you are new to blogging and feel hesitant about leaving comments please don’t be. Bloggers love ‘em. That is how we get to know each other. Even if you aren’t interested in getting to know us leave comments anyway – it gives you practice and also valuable links back to your own blog :-)

Oh I nearly forgot to pass it on. I would like to pass it on to someone you do not know as yet. She is a real life buddy and is just starting out with her own blog. To Janine of A New Me Soon. Good luck with your weight loss efforts and I think you are brave talking about what you have been going through.

Blogging Elegance Award

Colin from Life has bestowed this delightful award on me. Thank you Colin, you are a star.

‘Shibumi is a Japanese term which used in the following context is a noun. Its meaning refers to a ‘particular aesthetic of simple, subtle, and unobtrusive beauty” which can be applied to almost anything.’

The ´ shibumi’ award was originally created by Hawk – (beautiful design, Hawk)

Two Awards are Better than One

My blogging mate and fellow Aussie, Kim, has been kind enough to bestow two awards on me over the last couple of weeks.

From poeartica Kim honored me with her very own Southern Cross Award which she gave as a token of friendship to buddies who have regularly visited and commented on poeartica and at laketrees. I think this is a lovely gesture, thank you Kim.

Kim also gave me this award for being one of the blogs she relies on for all things technical. I really appreciated this, Kim, and am pleased that I am of some help. As that is the main purpose of my blogging, it is satisfying to know that you think this.

blogging award

The Blogging Hits the Mark award came by way of Speedcat Hollydale Page who received the award from The Genie King.

This one I can pass on. Therefore I give the Blogging Hits the Mark award to:

  • Kuanyin Who’s Yo Mama – I hope you get well soon.

  • Gattina – Writer’s cramps for great writing and photos to match.

(You can put this award on whichever of your blogs you choose)

  • Snoskred of Life in the Country who’s posts always hit the mark. I am eager to read the post she is going to do today; which she say’s may be the most important one she has written – “Some people may be insulted by it. Some people may feel guilty. Some people may shoot the messenger”. Even if I feel guilty or insulted I will not shoot the messenger and the sentiment of the award will still stand :-)
  • Colin Campbell – Adelaide Green Porridge Cafe who’s posts vary from talk of such things as British Sausage Week for sausage appreciators to political commentary

I do not expect you to post about or display the award if you do not want. Just take it as a sign of my respect for your blogs.

PS – I did not receive these awards at the same time – I have just been slack with blogging for a week or so. Work has had to take precedence. Apologies Kim.
