Blogging Friends – Much more than a Linkback

My experience has shown me that bloggers are in general a very helpful bunch, which is one of the main reasons I keep on blogging. I like to help others where I can too, which is not as altruistic as it sounds because I gain pleasure from doing so.

Although, a courteous thank you is enough in appreciation for something I have done, recognition with an award is extra special, not only because someone has thought of me but a linkback is always appreciated :-) Just being honest here, bloggers do tend to like linkbacks after all.

Without further ado, I want to thank Sandy of Writing in Faith for this award. Sandy, any help I have given is no where near the amount of pleasure you have given me through your blogs and the videos you so generously share with the world via YouTube .(P.S. I have ordered one of your books and am eagerly looking forward to receiving it in the mail).

I would like to pass this award on to Kim of Laketrees for her list of the Top 101 Artists Blogs. I for one am grateful to her for taking the time to put this together and allowing us to find the blogs of such a good range of creative people.

100 Artist Blogs

I also pass this on to a group of buddies that I have been spending a lot of online time with lately; some I already knew, others I have just met. Thanks to EVERYONE at the Australian Bloggers Forum   for your part in creating such a welcoming and friendly place for bloggers as well as providing very valuable help and blogging information.  (The forums, although run by Aussies, are open to anyone to join)

Liz Strauss says I am a SOB

I am an SOB. I never thought I would call myself this – until I came across Liz Strauss’s Successful and Outstanding Blogger Hall of Fame . When I started blogging and saw the SOB badge on various blogs I aspired to be part of this community myself – so I cannot help but feel really pleased that I have been recognized this way. This is one of the occassions when I fully appreciate how worthwhile blogging is; giving me the motivation to continue trying my best. I think I will continue blogging for a while longer :-)

Thank you Liz, for this honor as well as for the inspiration you give me through your own blogging.

Successful Outstanding Blogger

This award is bestowed on “bloggers who understand that the strength of the blogosphere comes from relationships, interconnectedness, and community”. I do understand and believe in this and hope that I can successfully carry on this message here.

Now I just have to persuade the cat, who keeps leaping on my keyboard, how important a task this is. She of course thinks that the very highest honors in all things should be hers and that she is the only one that belongs at the top of the ladder.

Thanks cotojo

Apologies for being slack Colin (aka cotojo of Life), I should have posted this ‘Best Friends Award’ a few days ago. I appreciate your friendship, Colin, thank you.

Thank you also for your kind thought in sending me this Christmas Card:

While adding the links to Colin’s blog I was wondering whether to link to the post in which he wrote about the award and card or just to his main blog page. In most cases when linking we are doing so to refer to a particular post. In this case I thought it may be more valuable to Colin, as a thank you, to link to his site, so that anyone clicking on the link is directed to his most recent post. What do you think?

Less Than Three Award

Thank you so much to lightening for giving me this award. A new visitor to my blog and new to WordPress too. Welcome and I hope you find things to help you here, lightening. If not please let me know – I would much rather post about things my readers want to know about than things I think they may like to know about :-)

Less than 3 your blog award

This award was created by ‘magneto bold too’, another fellow Aussie. I just loved how she introduced the award:

“Moo did it. But it was my idea! Honest. Truly. I dragged her away from playing Sims or Quiddich World Cup or chatting up a 40 year old man in his underpants on Myspace or somesuch and made her with the threat of no Santa asked her to help me design it.

Now the explanation. When the girls and I want to express our mutual admiration in public we say ‘Less than Three’. If you look at it sideways: <3 It looks like a heart. So I heart you.And I do. Every one of you. Even the hundreds of lurkers (I know you are there…. bwaaaa haaa haaa!) and if you poke out your head and leave a comment you can have one too!”

So, in the spirit of the award, I heart all my readers sideways, lurkers, those who comment, bloggers and non bloggers alike. All who comment on my blog are welcome to take this award and pass it on to others. Maybe I should put a time limit on that – All who comment before the end of December. 2007 that is :-)

Happy Blogging Christmas Card

In the spirit of the season of goodwill, I would like to thank all those people who have supported and encouraged me in my blogging this year. Thanks for entertaining me with your excellent blogs too. I may have researched a lot about the techniques of blogging but it is you that have taught that the real value in blogging is being part of a supportive friendly community.

With thanks for all you have taught me about blogging:

Please choose one of the above hand made cards (well Photoshop made really) as a token of my appreciation. I made a variety to match different theme colors. Feel free to pass them on to your blogging buddies too.
