Thank You For Your Recognition

Welcome to Blogging Sueblimely. To keep up with my posts you can subscribe to my RSS feed and follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!

Significant Blogger AwardMany thanks to Kim of Laketrees for giving me the Significant Blogger Award especially because of the wonderfully flattering reasons she passed it on.

"These special friends have a sense of community and are wholeheartedly committed to spreading their message and friendship generously…

these Bloggers excel in many different areas and all of them make a significant difference to my world…".

Around the time I was in the process of moving this blog over to Wordpress, late last year, I was very lucky to win a sketch drawn by Kim in a competition. Here is a minuscule version of the portrait. Isn’t she so talented! I could only give her a small portrait image to work from too.

Be the blog awardMeg of Dipping into the Blogpond had kindly passed on this Be the Blog Award. Thanks Meg. It does not matter that I have received this before, it is the thought that counts not the image. Anyway this is a pink one, the other gray :-)

To The Coven

Motivation for blogging has been lacking today and I have just realized why. My daughter has been visiting from Perth, along with a Canadian friend of hers who is doing a long world tour. It was the first time I have seen my daughter since she was transferred with her job to WA 3 months ago and her week long visit was wonderful. Now that she has gone back I am feeling flat. I am relieved now I have come to this realization, I have not gone off blogging after all :-)

I have been catching up on some pingbacks and which has cheered me up no end.

Be the Blog Award Dipping into the Blogpond Meg of Dipping into the Blogpond has awarded me the “Be the Blog Award”. Thanks Meg.

I would like to recognize some new blogs which have provided me with much interested reading already. I encourage you to go and visit them and give them support in their forays into our world of blogging.

These ravishing ladies are two of the three members of “The Coven” and although the third is not a new blogger I do not want to miss her out here. Anyone that can convince others of the rewards of blogging is worthy of it  Therefore my third awardee is:

I think it is wonderful that you three have developed such a supportive community.

If you do not want to accessorize your blog with pink you can choose one of the alternative badges provided by the award originator, Mark of Me and My Drum

Blogging Mentor Award

I have gained so much more knowledge of blogging than I could possibly have learned just by researching the subject. This is all due to the help, support and encouragement I have received from other bloggers. I have therefore created the Blogging Mentor Award to recognize and thank those who help us on our path to blogging, be it encouraging and helping us to start blogging or helping us to be the best we can, once we have started.

Unlike most awards, it is not necessary to have received it yourself to be able to pass it on to others. It is free for anyone to use; anyone who wishes to say thank you to their own blog mentors. All that I ask is that you include a mention and link to my Blog Mentor Page. This way I can compile lists of those who have been generous enough to give the award and those who have received it, giving them recognition myself by some backlinks

There are two formats to choose from - the graphic or the button:

Sueblimely's Blogging Mentor Award

What prompted me to create the award was reading that January is National Mentoring Month.in the USA. This is an initiative spearheaded by the Harvard Mentoring Project of the Harvard School of Public Health, with the aim of recruiting volunteer mentors to help young people achieve their full potential. The US ‘Thank Your Mentor Day™’ is dedicated to thanking or honoring individuals who have guided us and had a lasting impact on our lives.

Although the Blogging Mentor award is not restricted for use in January’s Mentoring Month, ‘Thank your Mentor Day‘ may be a particularly good time to use it. The date for 2008 is 24th January.

There are so many ways I have been helped - people have offered advice and guidance, taught me how to do all sorts of blogging things, provided very welcome comments, replied to my comments on their blogs.

I would like to thank the following kind hearted people who have offered me help, support, praise and encouragement in my blogging venture. Thank you too for making me feel part of the blogging world, which was so important to me especially when I first started out. Please accept this Blogging Mentor Award - you can choose either of the above graphics

Blogging Friends - Much more than a Linkback

My experience has shown me that bloggers are in general a very helpful bunch, which is one of the main reasons I keep on blogging. I like to help others where I can too, which is not as altruistic as it sounds because I gain pleasure from doing so.

Although, a courteous thank you is enough in appreciation for something I have done, recognition with an award is extra special, not only because someone has thought of me but a linkback is always appreciated :-) Just being honest here, bloggers do tend to like linkbacks after all.

Without further ado, I want to thank Sandy of Writing in Faith for this award. Sandy, any help I have given is no where near the amount of pleasure you have given me through your blogs and the videos you so generously share with the world via YouTube .(P.S. I have ordered one of your books and am eagerly looking forward to receiving it in the mail).

I would like to pass this award on to Kim of Laketrees for her list of the Top 101 Artists Blogs. I for one am grateful to her for taking the time to put this together and allowing us to find the blogs of such a good range of creative people.

100 Artist Blogs

I also pass this on to a group of buddies that I have been spending a lot of online time with lately; some I already knew, others I have just met. Thanks to EVERYONE at the Australian Bloggers Forum   for your part in creating such a welcoming and friendly place for bloggers as well as providing very valuable help and blogging information.  (The forums, although run by Aussies, are open to anyone to join)

Liz Strauss says I am a SOB

I am an SOB. I never thought I would call myself this - until I came across Liz Strauss’s Successful and Outstanding Blogger Hall of Fame . When I started blogging and saw the SOB badge on various blogs I aspired to be part of this community myself - so I cannot help but feel really pleased that I have been recognized this way. This is one of the occassions when I fully appreciate how worthwhile blogging is; giving me the motivation to continue trying my best. I think I will continue blogging for a while longer :-)

Thank you Liz, for this honor as well as for the inspiration you give me through your own blogging.

Successful Outstanding Blogger

This award is bestowed on “bloggers who understand that the strength of the blogosphere comes from relationships, interconnectedness, and community”. I do understand and believe in this and hope that I can successfully carry on this message here.

Now I just have to persuade the cat, who keeps leaping on my keyboard, how important a task this is. She of course thinks that the very highest honors in all things should be hers and that she is the only one that belongs at the top of the ladder.

Thanks cotojo

Apologies for being slack Colin (aka cotojo of Life), I should have posted this ‘Best Friends Award’ a few days ago. I appreciate your friendship, Colin, thank you.

award from cojoto

Thank you also for your kind thought in sending me this Christmas Card:

blogging christmas card

While adding the links to Colin’s blog I was wondering whether to link to the post in which he wrote about the award and card or just to his main blog page. In most cases when linking we are doing so to refer to a particular post. In this case I thought it may be more valuable to Colin, as a thank you, to link to his site, so that anyone clicking on the link is directed to his most recent post. What do you think?

Less Than Three Award

Thank you so much to lightening for giving me this award. A new visitor to my blog and new to Wordpress too. Welcome and I hope you find things to help you here, lightening. If not please let me know - I would much rather post about things my readers want to know about than things I think they may like to know about :-)

Less than 3 your blog award

This award was created by ‘magneto bold too’, another fellow Aussie. I just loved how she introduced the award:

“Moo did it. But it was my idea! Honest. Truly. I dragged her away from playing Sims or Quiddich World Cup or chatting up a 40 year old man in his underpants on Myspace or somesuch and made her with the threat of no Santa asked her to help me design it.

Now the explanation. When the girls and I want to express our mutual admiration in public we say ‘Less than Three’. If you look at it sideways: <3 It looks like a heart. So I heart you.And I do. Every one of you. Even the hundreds of lurkers (I know you are there…. bwaaaa haaa haaa!) and if you poke out your head and leave a comment you can have one too!”

So, in the spirit of the award, I heart all my readers sideways, lurkers, those who comment, bloggers and non bloggers alike. All who comment on my blog are welcome to take this award and pass it on to others. Maybe I should put a time limit on that - All who comment before the end of December. 2007 that is :-)
