Thanks for the tip. I guess we need to stay away from embededded video for a while. My own experience has show that the Big Guy (Blogger/YouTube/Google) gets to the bottom of this stuff. I gues it's the ultimate power game, to find vulnerable spots in all of this. Sick.

Thanks for letting me know petercrys. I will check it out.

I just read that 60% of the pings technorati gets come from spam blogs.

I have had masses of Greetings Cards email spam lately, Colin. I should imagine a lot of people have been caught out by that one. The email spam I hate the most though are those which manage to get images to show up when my settings are set not to - they are not something I would want a child to see.

I am heading over to read about the vikings cap'n - bye folks

Hi Sue,

Yes this is another of the nasties which is plaguing Blogger. Sadly some of it is also created unintentionally by those who email their posts to their blog from an infected pc. There are many of the Greeting Card emails and many twists and variations to these, the latest being 'Check Waiting' or similar which many people are opening and then being daft enough to click on the enclosed link!!
I use Blogger as well as a few others, but my mainstay is Wordpress, the only real drawback is the inability to use javascript unless you self host. In fairness to Wordpress, javascript is frequently the means used by hackers, so it's easy to see why they won't allow it's use.

Excellent post :)
